Coming Soon: National Logistics Policy
The Government is planning to invest around Rs.100 lakhs crore in logistics infrastructure in the next 5 years, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Som Parkash said.
“We are in the process of coming out with a new National Logistics Policy and creating data bank by getting feedback from different stakeholders,” he told more than 120 International delegates from 26 Countries at the 2nd Edition of LOGIX INDIA 2019.
These steps would help develop superior logistics linkages between international companies and Indian counterpart.
Inaugurating the 3-day mega event, Som Parkash pointed out that Logistics is the backbone of any trade and industry.
Currently the logistics cost in India is 30%-40% higher than the global benchmarked logistics cost. It is a big challenge for the government, which aims to reduce to 10% of the GDP.
Aimed at developing an effective international trade, the 2nd Edition of LOGIX INDIA provides efficient and cost-effective flow of goods on which other commercial sectors depend upon.
Besides, the event also focusses on Investment opportunities in Infrastructure development, Warehouse consolidation, Technology integration and IT Enablement, Skilling of Manpower among others.
The Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) organized the “2nd LOGIX INDIA 2019” as well as International Buyer Seller Meet.
on December 12, 2019 at New Delhi with the active support from Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt of India.
2nd LOGIX INDIA was inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister of State for Commerce & Industry, Govt of India, Mr Som Parkash in the presence of senior govt officials, diplomats, leaders of the trade, industry & logistics, FIEO office bearers and various other stakeholders.
