Russian and Indian steel industry stakeholders have discussed opportunities to strengthen cooperation in the steel sector through investment, technology exchange, sustainable production practices and supply chain resilience.

“Enhanced collaboration between the two countries can support industrial modernisation, foster innovation in advanced steel products and contribute to deeper long-term economic and strategic partnership between India and Russia,” the Steel Ministry said on 9 Sept.

The discussion was held under the Session on “India–Russia Collaboration on Steel Value Chain” was organised at Hall2, Bharat Mandapam under the India–Russia Business Dialogue, with the support of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Ministry of Commerce & Industry. The session was co-chaired by Sandeep Poundrik, Secretary, Ministry of Steel and Mikhail Yurin, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.
