DIPCs for TN and UP
The Kerala Government’s Defence Park at Pallakad is 58% in progress with Rs.35 crore grant released by the Central Government for the total cost of Rs.191 crore. Originally it was estimated to cost Rs.131.35 crore.
The Central has committed Rs.50 crore grant for the Pallakad Park under the Modified Industrial Infrastructure Upgradation Scheme (MIIUS), said Minister of State of Commerce and Industry, C. R. Chaudhary, in a written reply in the Lok Sabha on 31 Dec 2018.
The project, by Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corp (KINFRA), was sanctioned on 28 March 2016. The Kerala Government is bearing the remainder Rs.141 crore cost for the 60-acre complex.
Additionally, the Central Government has decided to set up two Defence Industrial Production Corridors (DIPCs) in Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh. fiinews.com
