Ministers reaffirmed commitment to deepening agricultural partnership

Minister of State Ramnath Thakur has called for opportunities to expand bilateral trade in agriculture between India and Chile, stressing the need to unlock full potential of exports agriwelfare .

He listed roses, garlic, kidney beans among other products during a meeting with visiting Chilean Agriculture Minister Esteban Valenzuela and his delegation in New Delhi 27 Aug 2024 minagri .

Responding during the bilateral meeting, Valenzuela assured early resolution for market access to Indian Mangoes and Pomegranate ( agriproexpo ), and conveyed Chile’s keen interest in importing Indian bananas and basmati rice ccs.cl/en-inicio/ .

He also expressed an interest in broadening the range of agricultural products traded by including walnuts, fruits, and vegetables in the existing list fieo .

Overall, the meeting concentrated on key areas of mutual interest and collaboration, including the implementation of MoUs on Agricultural Cooperation bse, the Horticulture Action Plan, and e-certification of phytosanitary certificates nse .

Discussions also addressed agricultural challenges ( espaciofoodservice ) in both Chile and India and the ministers underscored the importance of sustainable practices and reaffirmed their commitment to deepening the agricultural partnership to strengthen cooperation sbi .
