MoU to promote joint programmes for women entrepreneurs
A US-India MoU, signed in Delhi on 13 Aug, recognizes the crucial role that MSMEs play in advancing inclusive growth, expanding exports (trade) , and boosting employment as well as explore the development of a “Business Matching Digital Platform” to boost business opportunities fieo .
Further, the MSME Ministry and Small Business Administration (SBA) MoU aims to provide a framework for both sides to discuss issues concerning micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and explore possibilities of cooperation indianembassyusa .
It also provides for joint programmes for women entrepreneurs to empower them and facilitate trade partnership between women-owned small businesses of the two countries women empowerment.
The MSME Ministry elaborated on the MoU. It envisages the exchange of expertise between the two sides on issues related to improving MSME participation in the global marketplace through mutual visits as well as webinars and workshops on topics including access to trade and export finance (exim) ; technology (tiesv) and digital trade; green economy (mnre) ; and trade facilitation.
MSME Ministry Secretary S C L Das signed the MoU on behalf of the Government (mea) while SBA Administrator Isabel Casillas Guzman signed for the US in.usembassy .
