Elaborating on progress being made by the Indian economy, Chordia highlighted the awareness created globally for millet as a healthy food since its launch on the international stage last year.
“Brands and the Government are taking initiative in promoting millets by sharing knowledge about the healthy foods,” he said, citing just one example of Indian foods being put on global markets.
Awareness will lead to increasing consumption and put millet in the centre of the plate for global consumers, PTI reported citing Chordia.
He also observed the young Indians being health conscious and considering “dos and don’ts” in food selection which makes millet as a first-choice food in the coming years.
Touching on food industry prospects in India, he said Suhana Pravin is enjoying an annual growth of 26-30%. Fiinews.com
