In a social media poston 13 Feb, Gadkari said this 24.41-km project will be executed under the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) mode as part of National Highway (Original) – North East (NH(O)-NE).
Gadkari said the envisioned road infrastructure aims to facilitate uninterrupted traffic flow circumventing interference from local traffic in developed areas. This initiative seeks to alleviate congestion in the urban zones, thereby augmenting road safety within these built-up areas.
The Minister said the strategic project also endeavors to sidestep heavily populated areas, diminish congestion, and heighten road safety within the city of Aizawl.
Additionally, it aspires to curtail the length of the existing National Highway by 25 km, from Vairengte to Sairang, he added.
Gadkari also sanctioned Rs.382.10 crore for the construction of a new 2-lane highway with paved shoulders connecting Majuli and Jorhat on the recently designated NH 715K in Assam.
Additionally, a flyover on NH-715, complete with its approaches and service roads, is included in the project, spanning a total length of 20.479-km.
Gadkari said the development of approach roads and the Majuli bridge will ensure continuous connectivity, significantly improving the socio-economic conditions of the local population and promoting tourism.
This strategic infrastructure investment is poised to reduce travel time and vehicle operating costs for road users, he added.

The projects inaugurated on 13 Feb 2024 include widening of 2-lane paved shoulder from Lameri to Karnaprayag in Rudraprayag and Chamoli and Dudhdhari elevated flyover in Haridwar.
These projects will not only ease transportation but will also provide better connectivity from Rishikesh to the India-China border, he said.
The flyover will provide relief from traffic jams in religious city Haridwar and it will be easier to reach other religious places.
Uttarakhand will achieve a faster pace of development with the construction of 28 projects whose foundation stones were laid on 13 Feb 2024.
The journey of devotees on Chardham routes will be facilitated. Connectivity of Uttarakhand with other states will increase accelerating economic and social development, the Minister said.

Widening of Kathgodam to Nainital road with 2-lane paved shoulder will improve connectivity to Nainital – Manaskhand temples. The 4-lane widening of Kashipur to Ramnagar road will make it easier for tourists to reach Jim Corbett National Park and Manaskhand temples.
The 2-lane widening of Kangarchina to Almora Road will not only increase the number of tourists going to Bageshwar but will also save their time. 2-lane widening and rehabilitation of Kanda Marg from Udiyari Band on National Highway 309A will facilitate access to Bagnath and Baijnath temples in Bageshwar.
Gadkari said with the aim of creating excellent infrastructure in Uttarakhand, not only the work of roads and highways is going on, but keeping in mind the safety of the people, walls are also being constructed on the National Highway 87 extension.
