Urgent need to have a clearer visibility of data, says US-based cyber expert
India is advancing with technology with digital transformation, and the country’s growth story will be talked about over the next five to 10 years, says Dr Aditya Sood, Senior Director of Threat Research and Security Strategy, Office of the CTO, at Seattle-headquartered F5.
“We will see a lot of successful startup surge, with fundings running into multi-billion dollars,” Sood at the Singapore International Cyber Week held Oct 17-19, 2023.
But he was also quick to highlight the risks associated with the India growth story as it is not a small market and not an easy place to manage, given that technologists are raising the bars frequently for businesses and individuals.
Sood underlines the urgent need to have a clearer visibility of data at the highest level of cyber security. Data is moving from devices to devices and clients to servers by clicks.
“Even if we have solutions in place, the challenge is going to pop up because cybersecurity is going to be the big data problem. And who is going to control the data is going to control the keys to the kingdom,” said Sood, who has spent over 15 years in the United States.
Cyber experts feel that even if laws, legislations, policies and mandatory compliance requirements are in place, the question is on the implementation for cyberattack is borderless and can originate from anywhere in the world.
