Twenty-four Italian companies meet Rajnath Singh in Rome
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has shared with Italian industries the eased FDI norms in defence sector and the opportunities being created at the two Defence Industrial Corridors as India consistently work to encourage defence manufacturing in the country.
“India offers exciting opportunities for co-development and co-production and the complementary capacities of Indian and Italian defence industries could be optimised in a win-win situation,” he told CEOs and other top industry leaders of Italian defence companies in Rome on 10 Oct 2023.
He also requested the Italian industry leaders to strengthen the supply chain linkages with the Indian defence manufacturers and develop closer ties with the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers.
The meeting was attended by CEOs, Presidents and Vice Presidents as well as senior officials of 24 Italian defence companies. Industry leaders from Leonardo, Fincantieri, Elettronica, Beretta, AIAD, Pasquali and many other prominent Italian companies participated in the meeting.
Singh welcomed the CEOs’ proposals on strengthening defence relations between the two countries and assured them of all necessary support and assistance on the part of Indian Government of India. Fiinews.com
