MoU signed for producing high-end microwave, digital and power electronics hardware
Centum Electronics Limited of Bangalore and Spain’s Indra Sistemas SA have signed an MoU to exclusively collaborate in high-end futuristic Radar systems and technologies for the Government as well as manufacturing and commissioning of the radar for space applications.
The Long-range radar is intended to detect, track and analyse objects and debris in space at a distance of thousands of kilometres, said the partners in a joint statement on 20 Oct 2022.
The MoU was exchanged between Nikhil Mallavarapu, Executive Director, Centum Electronics, and Jaime Manuel Temes Giménez, International Director for Defence, Indra Sistemas during the ‘Bandhan’ DefExpo 2022 at Gandhinagar.
“This exclusive cooperation would serve Atma Nirbhar Bharat vision by manufacturing most of the high-end microwave, digital and power electronics hardware within the country,” said Mallavarapu.
“The country would benefit by filling a key technology gap that exists,” he added.
Giménez pointed out that Indra is aligned with the ‘Make in India’ vision and is pleased to collaborate with Centum.
This MoU will enhance Centum’s indigenous Radar technology capabilities in addition to generating additional revenues in the coming years.
