Wanjari to recruit over 150 technology professionals in India

Chicago’s ShipBob has launched Technology Innovation Hub in New Delhi to service its global base of Direct to Consumer (DTC) brands and fulfillment partners, enabling their scale both in the US and internationally. This is the first of its kind hub outside of the United States.

“Some of the world’s finest technology and entrepreneurial talent is based out of India, and we are very excited to launch our first technology hub outside the United States to tap into this talent pool,” said Harshal Wanjari, Chief Technology Officer at ShipBob.

“The initiatives executed out of our India hub will service our global base of DTC brands and fulfillment partners, enabling their scale both in the US and internationally.

“We are also thrilled to welcome Pramod Jajoo to ShipBob’s leadership team. Pramod’s experience will be instrumental in further expanding ShipBob’s technology capabilities to meet the needs of the supply chain landscape and help us provide merchants around the world with fast and affordable supply chain, fulfillment and logistics products,” Wanjari said on 7 April 2022.

Over the next few years, ShipBob plans to recruit over 150 technology professionals in India, in the areas of engineering, product management, platforms, data sciences and analytics. ShipBob will continue to bring its remote-first philosophy to the market in India as the company believes that flexibility in where you work enables their people to perform their best both at work and at home.

The Technology Innovation Hub is part of ShipBob’s global technology organization and a key component in the company’s multi-year plan to expand its capabilities to support the massive need for industry-leading supply chain technology for ecommerce brands worldwide.

The Hub will focus on building merchant facing products and cloud native platforms in the areas of global inventory management and optimization, fulfillment, partner and marketplace integrations and transportation and logistics.

In conjunction with the opening of the new technology hub, ShipBob also announced the hiring of Pramod Jajoo as SVP, Technology and Country Head. Jajoo will lead ShipBob’s expansion in India while overseeing all technology advancements the company will undertake in the country.

“I am excited to lead ShipBob’s India hub that will be talent-centric, helping build the most innovative products for streamlining the supply chain for our customers,” said Jajoo who has more than 25 years of experience in technology leadership roles in both the US and India at companies like Flipkart and BigBasket.

ShipBob is a global leader in democratizing the supply chain for small and mid-sized ecommerce brands to allow them to scale their businesses and achieve significant growth online. With thousands of customers shipping millions of orders per month, ShipBob empowers these direct-to-consumer brands to thrive through their full-stack software solution and fulfillment centers around the world.

Founded in 2014 out of Chicago, ShipBob was launched through Y Combinator by co-founders Dhruv Saxena and Divey Gulati, two entrepreneurs who saw a need for more efficient shipping for ecommerce businesses. Today, the company has over 1,000 employees, has raised US$330.5 million in funding and operates a global logistics network with 30 fulfillment centers across five countries, including the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, European Union and Australia. fiinews.com
