Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has signed a strategic Skill MoU with Lausanne Hospitality Consulting (LHC) to set up a world-class Indian Culinary Institute in the country.

The MoU also has a proposal to set up The Lausanne Hotel & Restaurant Training Center in India.

The MoU spans various other initiatives including publishing of joint research papers, creating a dual training/education certification model, and delivery of specialised training programs/master classes, amongst other joint ventures.

The collaborative arrangement will help bring in international expertise of the Swiss partners with a promise to maximise the reach by capitalising CII’s industry connect.

LHC is the Swiss knowledge development and management advisory company of Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) and the Swiss Hotel Association.

LHC has considerable expertise, global repute and experience in the fields of strategic management advisory, development of hospitality learning centres, people search & management support, certification of learning centres-products-individuals and executive education.

Speaking on the occasion, Sougata Roy Choudhary, Head, Skill Development, CII said, “India’s burgeoning population presents a huge opportunity, which if coupled with international training standards can help creation of a truly globalised workforce.

“The MoU is a critical step in this regard catering to the Tourism and Hospitality segment, which is one of the leading service sectors with a huge demand for trained manpower.

“Taking the delivery beyond hospitality, the joint venture will focus on bringing Critical Thinking, Emotional Intelligence and improving Human touch to the services of manufacturing and services sectors alike through corporate training,” Choudhary said.

Yateendra Sinh, Global CEO, LHC, said, “We are pleased to partner with CII in India to introduce professional lifespan training and executive education solutions that address not only the human skills gap in the hospitality, manufacturing and services sectors, but also generate a positive mindset shift.

“The aim of this partnership is to develop the manpower with market derived, hands on skills and a strategic service mindset that above all emphasizes continuous learning for both the individuals and the organisations,” Sinh said.

“Our strategic alignment with CII in India is a significant step in our continuous effort to represent the Swiss tradition of excellence globally in the fields of customer service excellence, human talent development & management, hospitality education, hospitality skill development, and hospitality & tourism strategic management advisory,” elaborated Aman Aditya Sachdev, LHC’s Director and Country Head – India.

“Through our business lifecycle support approach and in association with CII, we are pleased to share our philosophy and knowledge with both private and governmental organisations across industry sectors in the country,” he said.

CII has been playing a pivotal role in driving the Skill India Mission by supporting the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and identifying potential partners to give further impetus to the Skills Ecosystem. fiinews.com
