Lucideus and Sumeru offer tech product and services
Two Indian technology companies are venturing into the South East Asian markets through regional offices in Singapore, already rated as technology hub.
New Delhi-based Lucideus, a five-year old IIT incubator on cybersecurity, and Sumeru Software Solutions of Bangalore are in discussions to start South East Asian businesses out of Singapore.
“Singapore is a gateway for the rest of South east Asia,” said Saket Modi, chief executive of Lucideus which began as an incubator at Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, in 2012.
Modi believes Singapore-based corporations and state-owned agencies understand the use of cutting edge technologies such as those from Lucideus.
The company’s latest product is “Security Assessment Framework for an Enterprise” (SAFE) which is being used by large corporations globally.
“We believe the world is moving towards niche products and services,” he said after holding a product demonstration at the CyberTechAsia, held here 27-28 Mar 2018.
He described cybersecurity as a borderless threat.
“We are obsolutely looking at becoming a global leader when it comes to providing cybersecurity,” said the 27-year science engineer.
Lucideus has had eight acquisition proposals from financial consultancies and technology companies in the last six months, said Modi, who is bullish on his business prospects.
While staying focus on the South East Asian marekts, Modi sees language issues in Japanese market and China being reticent to foreign technologies.
Lucideus has expanded in five years with offices in Mumbai and California, and expects to open Singapore office within this year.
Also setting up regional office in Singapore is Sumeru Software Solutions of Bangalore.
“We are in discussions to set up an office in Singapore,” said Manoj Tolani, Sumeru Senior Vice President for sales at the CyberTechAsia.
The company has a wide range of products, the latest being an audit app used by multi-national corporations. It has offices in Mumbai, Europe, Africa and the United States.
Founded in 2001 as a start-up, Sumeru is looking for partners in the South East Asian markets, said Tolani. fii-news.com
