Water and sewage treatment plants for 110 villages
Japan has committed Yen 45 billion (Rs.2,87 crore approx.) for building water and sewage treatment plants under the Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewerage Project (Phase 3) (I).
The Japan International Cooperation Agency is extending the loan under Official Development Assistant for the project in Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagar Palike (BBMP) area covering 110 villages with safe and stable water supply and sewerage services.
The project will help improve living conditions of the residents as well as the investment environment in BBMP in the State of Karnataka.
The ODA Notes were exchanged on 24 Jan 2018 by S. Selvakumar, Joint Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Kenji Hiramatsu, Japanese Ambassador to India.
India and Japan have had a long and fruitful history of bilateral development cooperation since 1958.
In the last few years, the economic cooperation between India and Japan has steadily progressed, said an Indian government press note.
