The 180.5-km project to cost Rs.37,539 crore.
The first 56-km of the Delhi-Rewari-Alwar Regional Rapid Transport System (RRTS) will be underground with nine stations starting from Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT) Kashmeri Gate in Delhi to Cyber City in Haryana.
The rest 124.5-km elevated route will have 10 stations, according to briefing given by V.K. Singh, Managing Director of National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC)in New Delhi on 22 April 2017.
The 180.5-km network’s cost is estimated at Rs.37,539 crore.
Work on the project will start within one year.
Approval for the Detailed Project Report (DPR) is expected in the next two months, following with the Delhi, Hayrana and Rajasthan state governments are expected to give approval in another three months.
The rail will have a design speed of 180 kmph, operating speed of 160 kmph and average speed of 105 kmph, with operating frequency every five minute to 10-minute, depending on the traffic peak.
It would begin with six-car combination for 1,154 passengers.
NCRTC, a joint venture of the central government and state governments of Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.
It is executing the prioritized 3 RRTS corridors viz — Delhi-Alwar, Delhi-Meerut and Delhi-Panipat while 8 such corridors have been identified under the Integrated Transportation Plan 2032 prepared by the National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB).
The other RRTS corridors are; Delhi-Baraut, Delhi-Hapur, Delhi-Khurja, Delhi-Palwal and Delhi-Rohtak. fii-news.com
