EESL seeks technologies
Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) will procure latest technologies for projects to improve energy use efficiency in bulk water supply, public lighting, transportation and domestic consumption in cities and towns across the country.
It will also provide and or arrange funding for these projects which would help reduce energy costs by 25-40 per cent from about 40-60 per cent in water supply in urban areas.
EESL has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Urban Development Ministry which leads the energy efficiency projects across the country.
The Central Electricity Authority (CEA) estimates that urban local bodies can save about Rs.6,000 Crore per year by using latest technologies and machineries in water supply and public lighting, reducing power consumption by 1,150-megawatts. fii-news.com
