Austria’s AMST SYSTEMTECHNIK GMBH is installing a number of simulators in India to further strengthen safety in the aviation sector, stressing the importance of investing in pilot training in today’s complex military and civil aircraft sphere.

The installations will include dynamic flight simulators for the Indian Air Force and Defence Force.

“As science and technology advances, all these simulators have to be of advanced technology to meet the latest operational challenges and complexities,” said Air Vice Marshall (Retired) Dr Ranjit Kumar, Aerospace Medicine Consultant at AMST.

“We have planned a number of collaborations in India as part of our being in the ‘Make in India’ initiative,” he said to fii-news.com.

AMST plans to make some heavy parts of the simulators in India and others in Austria.

“Negotiations are going on with companies for manufacturing components that are too heavy to be shipped to India,” he said.

It has defence solution collaborations with New Delhi-based Continental Defence Solutions.

“AMST is a think tank, in other words a Centre of Excellence dedicated to Research, Innovation, Design and manufacturing of the complex Simulators in Aerospace Medicine and Aircrew Training. Our aim is to make flying safe for pilots and other passengers, to prevent harmful effects of aviation stresses, for which we have developed many ground based simulators,” said Dr. Kumar.

AMST has developed a range of specialized products capable of simulating the experience of High Altitudes, Spatial Disorientation, other aviation stresses and G-forces. The Simulators produced by AMST have been installed in many countries across are globe.

“Preparation of courses and the procurement of specialist training equipment are vital factors in ensuring the complete operational performance and safety of an aircraft and its flight crew,” he said. fii-news.com.
