Technologies helped integrate all services

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

Andhra Pradesh will have an Innovation Valley, on the lines of the Silicon Valley in the US, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has announced.

Speaking at a special plenary session on ‘Technologies For Tomorrow’, on 25 Feb 2018, Naidu said his government is leveraging new technologies to usher in the highest transparency and accountability standards in governance and for speedy delivery of public services.

Technologies are also helping the government to integrate all public services, while enhancing the social empowerment of the people of the state, he pointed out.

By providing connectivity to all households, people are empowered to connect directly with concerned government departments and obtain real time response to their queries and complaints.

The Government’s Real Time Governance system is also facilitating use of data to build profiles of resident families and villages and match those with the government programmes, he elaborated.

Naidu spoke about how technologies have been harnessed to create People’s Hub, Land Hub, e-office, e-cabinet, and the state hybrid cloud.

The Chief Minister said that he has envisioned Andhra Pradesh as a hub for clouds maintenance.

He pointed that all Andhra Pradesh state government departments are online today.

Moreover, the Real Time Governance system enables monitoring of public infrastructure that includes monitoring of LED street lights using sensors. The state government is promoting virtual classrooms for students, and drones are being employed for a gamut of activities like soil testing.

Naidu stated that with the use of technologies, sectors like healthcare, education, entertainment and agriculture are opening up compelling business opportunities.

Voice-based technologies are being adopted in a big way, he added.

The session was part of the CII Partnership Summit 2018 organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in association with the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Commerce and Industry Ministry and the State Government of Andhra Pradesh in Visakhapatnam. fii-news.com
