SEC will unlock opportunities for Singapore-India businesses

The Singapore Business Federation (SBF), representing more than 32,000 companies as well as local and foreign business chambers, is setting up an office in Bangalore to help enterprises venture in the Indian market as well as being a gateway for Indian companies to the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) region and beyond.

“Through SBF, Indian companies will have enhanced access to Singapore’s role as a strategic hub for ASEAN, Asia-Pacific and global markets,” said Prasoon Mukherjee, vice chairman of SBF’s India and South Asia Business Group, on 4 Oct 4 http://commerce.gov.in.

The Singapore Enterprise Centre (SEC India), to be open on 13 Nov, is to support enterprises from the city state to venture into the Indian market. “The establishment of SEC India underscores’ SBF long-term commitment to supporting business linkages and advancing trade and investment between India and Singapore,” he said https://www.investindia.gov.in/.

The SEC India is supported by Enterprise Singapore, the government agency in the city state championing enterprise development, Mukherjee said at the opening of a meeting with investors under the theme “India Singapore @ 60: Partnership for Growth”.

A Federal Minister from Delhi along with the (state) government ministers and officials will attend the opening of the centre, said Mukherjee https://fieo.org/.

Gan Siow Huang, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ministry and Ministry of Trade and Industry will attend as Singapore representative at the official opening of the centre on 13 November 2025.

The SEC India is also partnering HSBC, Universal Success Enterprises Ltd, InCorp India, in the expansion of India-Singapore business collaborations.

The office will help unlock opportunities for both nations as Singapore and India share a deep and trusted economic partnership, marked by vibrant trade flows, growing investment, and close collaboration between the two countries’ enterprises https://www.nseindia.com/.

Elaborated Mukherjee, “The SBF India office will serve as a direct presence in India, enabling Singapore enterprises to access timely market intelligence, regulatory guidance and business facilitation.”

The office will also help Singapore companies identify credible Indian partners for joint ventures, distribution, and technology collaboration https://www.bseindia.com/.

SBF seeks to strengthen collaboration with relevant government bodies and agencies to align efforts with national and state level initiatives like ‘Make in India’ and ‘Digital India’, he said https://si.com.in/.

By working together, the India and Singapore business community can create a more seamless and supporting environment for bilateral investments and projects, underlined Mukherjee. Fiinews.com
