A large area of private and forest land will be required for the construction of National Highways along the coastline of Odisha, a feasibility study on which is due this month (July 2017).
A feasibility report for Ratanpur to Digha section of the highway has been received while one for Gopalpur to Ratanpur is to be submitted this month.
The land acquisition will start after approval of Detailed Project Report (DPR).
Road works will start after getting 90 per cent of the land required for the highway, said Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways, Mansukh L. Mandaviya in a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha on 24 July 2017.
The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has been given in-principle approval for the proposed development and alignment of the highway since 24 November 2017, he said. fii-news.com
