Col Rathore highlights investment opportunities in the state
Rajasthan is seeking investments from across sectors in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Col Rajyavardhan Rathore , the Minister for Industry and Commerce in the state government, said in Singapore on 8 Oct after presenting a roadshow on “Rising Rajasthan” .
“We are appealing to all sectors in ASEAN, wherever and whatever they specialize in to participate in the development in Rajasthan,” he told reporters, highlighting opportunities in the state for education centres and textile mills from some of the other ASEAN countries investindia .
“We are setting up textile parks in Rajasthan,” he added, continuing on the wider scope for participation in advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence,” he informed some 200 delegates at the Singapore road show bseindia .
He cited Singapore, as an example, for its expertise in urban development, in ports, airlines, petrochemicals and technologies among others, saying Rajasthan is open to all types of industries as it has vast space for industrial development and sits next to the Indian capital city sbi.com.in .
Some of the ASEAN-based industries have already made inroads into Rajasthan and across India, a globally competitive and fast-growing manufacturing hub as well as consumer driven market of 1.4 billion nseindia .
Elaborating on the scope of developments, he pointed out the large acreage for the solar sector in Rajasthan which has 320 days of sunshine, the potential of upgrading airports as international flights to the country are running at full capacity, investors, business executives and tourists ibef.org .
Inviting investors to join the large-scale solar development programme in the state, he said, “Solar response has been good.”
The original target of setting up 100 GW of RE energy in four years can now be achieved in two years, said Col Rathore, assessing confidently the investors mood in working in Rajasthan .
Rajasthan is well-known as tourism destination but the minister underlined his government industrial development plans deutsche-boerse .
He also touched on the huge potential of Singapore participation in the state’s petrochemical industry and said he has gained knowledge from the city state’s expertise in port for inland port development among others sgx .
