BIKANERVALA plans more vegetarian outlets in Singapore to serve Indian tourists
Sattvik-certified “BIKANERVALA”, a well-known family Indian restaurant chain, has opened its outlet in Terminal 3 of Singapore’s Changi Airport, an assurance patrons Vegan, Vegetarian, Sattvam, Jain & Buddhist of being served pure foods in the hustling-bustling multi-national city state.
The certification aims to provide a sense of security and comfort to the public so that the products and services consumed or used as “vegetarian” are 100% pure.
“SATTVIK has left a lasting impression on vegetarian travellers, by providing them reassurance,” Venkat Kumar, Director of Sattvik Certifications in Singapore, said on having “BIKANERVALA” open its outlet at Changi Airpor which received 686,000 Indian arrivals in 2022 as per Singapore’s tourism authority data.
While many see this as a pretext for enforcing vegetarianism, Abhishek Biswas, founder of Sattvik Certification, says the certification acts as an assurance. Vegetarians and vegans of the world need to fall back on a logo so that they know it is 100% pure.
Meanwhile, Sattvik is also working on certifications in Canada, which has a large Indian dispora.
Sattvik Certifications Singapore Pte Ltd (SCSG) also see a potential market in a plant-based meat in South-East Asia. These foods are also being certified by Sattvik.
Sattvik has developed its own 40 codes catering to different markets such as food, hospitality, textiles, cosmetics and marines and various scope of certification such as Vegan, Vegetarian, Sattvam, Jain & Buddhist, elaborated Venkat.
