A leading Chinese communications company is eyeing India to sell its security products and if successful it will be a vital addition to the booming Sino-India trade.
The company is Hytera Communications, whose new communication platform was formally exhibited before the global security community during a recent international conference in Singapore. It is no stranger to India as Hytera has already made inroads in the country through sales of walkie talkies.
Backing its current network of supply-partners and distributors, in the medium-term, Hytera is also aiming to set up a marketing office in India,  the company’s marketing director Dylan Liu said after the launch of the unified communication platform in Singapore.
Hytera’s plans are timely because they come at a time when India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting China, shortly before completing one year in office. For the first time, chief ministers of three Indian states will also accompany the Prime Minister on his foreign visit.
“As part of expansion plans in the coming years, we plan to introduce Hytera SmartOne in India,” Liu said after the launch of the unified communication platform in Singapore.

The Hytera SmartOne allows for the transmission of signals and voice data from various communication protocols, providing both high-performance and high-security.
Hytera is already supplying professional mobile radio, or PMR, systems to several Indian security agencies including state police departments through local partners and distributors.
“India is one of our first overseas markets and we have supplied analog and digital PRM systems there,” he said.
Elaborating on the company’s plans for the Indian market, Liu said Hytera is aiming to be the top supplier for PMR systems, or walkie-talkies, in the country.
Currently, Hytera’s sales growth by volume in India is around 35 per cent which compares well with the growth in global sales at 40 per cent.
“Given the huge demand for communication network amidst massive infrastructure development, India is a strategically important market,” said Liu.
Hytera was among 258 international industry players from 34 countries, and 8,000 commercial buyers, police, law enforcement and government officials who recently participated in Interpol World 2015, a three-day conference and exhibition in Singapore.
