Maruti exported 167,964 Vehicles to markets in Latin America, ASEAN, Africa, the Middle East and South Asia
Japanese and Korean brands boosted India’s passenger vehicle (PV) exports in April-December 2021-22 to 424,037, up from 291,170 units for the same period a year ago, according to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).
Passenger car and utility vehicle shipments were 275,728 units and 146,688 units during the nine-month, up 45% and 47% on the year, respectively.
Export of vans nearly doubled to 1,621 units in April-December 2021-22 as compared with 877 units in the same period last fiscal year.
Japanese brand Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) topped the list of exporters, shipping 167,964 PVs to global markets including Latin America, ASEAN, Africa and the Middle East as well as to the neighbouring South Asian countries.
South Korean brand Hyundai Motor India exported 100,059 units during April-December 2021-22, up 35% on the year.
Kia India, also a South Korean brand, exported 34,341 units globally, up from 28,538 units shipped a year ago. fiinews.com
