ISRO to allow the use of infrastructures
The Government is set to handhold the private sector in the Space Sector under the Indian National Space, Promotion & Authorization Centre (INSPACe) of the Department of Space.
This would encourage and promote the private sector participation in Space Sector, using ISRO infrastructure through INSPACe, Minister of State for Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh said in a written reply in Rajya Sabha on 17 Sept 2020.
The scientific community has welcomed the Government’s decision. There are more than 500 companies that partner with ISRO in carrying out space activities.
The broad areas and sectors covered by private companies are for providing materials, mechanical fabrication, electronic fabrication, system development, integration, etc.
The role of New Space India Limited (NSIL) in the post reformed space sector would be to build launch vehicles, providing launch services, build satellites, providing space-based services, technology transfers, etc.
Singh said the Government would allow private players to utilize ISRO infrastructures that are otherwise not available elsewhere in India at reasonable charges depending on the requirement. #space #technologies #investors #projects /fiinews.com
