Studying remotely will improve education quality

New opportunities and developments will emerge in the Indian Education system post-COVID-19, according to Dr. Mohit Gambhir, Innovation Director, Ministry of Human Resource Development.

“While everything is available online, slowly and gradually we have to come out with a decent blend of 80:20 or 70:30 kind of education system which has components of online and offline learning,” he said.

But there are a lot of concerns and issues being faced, he cautioned at the PHD Chamber Webinar on “Higher Education Post COVID-19: Challenges and Opportunities” held 11 April 2020. The session was attended by more than 228 delegates.

“While we are advancing ourselves in terms of digital places, conducting online classes and using innovative tools for education, we are concerned regarding practical learning as an aspect of education,” said Dr Gambhir.

“Studying remotely will enable emerging countries to improve the quality of education,” said Anil Khaitan, Former President, PHD Chamber.

Post Covid-19, blended learning will dramatically increase, online education will be a strategic priority at every institution, online program management, existing and potential partnerships will be rethought, home schooling programs will increase which will allow parents to help in developing the children’s skills, as well as discovering their own children’s potential and talent, he elaborated.

“Coronavirus, without any warfare, is to me like a third world war, which has been launched on entire humanity.

“However, we have to see the future opportunities in the times when the young population of India and the world is going through a massive mental metamorphosis, said Khaitan.

Dr. V M Bansal, Chairman Education Committee, PHDCCI believes the world will experience a change in the education sector will bring new opportunities and learning, educators have to be themselves trying to know what direction to go in for and then really try to make a serious effort to get into that direction.

“It is opening up new opportunities that are set for the Startups to flourish.

“There will be the opening of new courses and fields which are going to open lots of new opportunities and we need to groom ourselves and our youth for these times to come,” said Dr Bansal. fiinews.com
