Company lends credit support

India is an attractive market for niche products, especially to meet the component demand of aviation industry which has a strong double-digit growth, according to Peter Kjeldsen, COO of the Denmark headquartered Leki Aviation.

Leki Aviation consolidates products from over 200 global manufacturers and distribute these to the aviation industry including India to help enhance aircraft maintenance and keep operations economically viable.

The Danish supplier holds inventories, offer credits and even help airlines liquidate their access or surplus stocks of aircraft parts, said Kjeldsen at the Singapore Air Show held 11-16 Feb 2020.

“It is a win-win market strategy,” he underlined.

Leki Aviation started serving the Indian market in 2000s based on strong demand seen among Indian airlines which are facing an ever-increasing volume of passenger and cargo traffics.

“Obviously, India has a massive growth potential because of the sheer size of the population. Eventually, everyone is going to require some sort of transportation, such as airlines,” said Kjeldsen, pointing out the Government’s UDAN, a regional airport development scheme in the country as every Indian is encouraged to fly.

To further help in funding, Leki Aviation also extends credit to its customers and even acquires back excess and surplus of components as a liquidation process. “This way we help unlock cash,” he explained.

Subsidiary Leki Tech is also getting orders from Indian customers for repairs and maintenance work. Another strong growth segment, he added.

Kjeldsen sees double-digit growth in the Indian aviation market where development of over 100 airports, airstrips are planned across the country.

The services cover line and base material support, forward fit, modification and upgrades, rotable pool, interior concept, asset management, repairs, general aviation and ground support equipment. fiinews.com
