Steel giant works digital transformation strategy to integrate smart technologies
Chennai-headquartered Garuda Aerospace has executed a comprehensive aerial survey and mapping project across Steel Authority of India Limited’s (SAIL) operational facilities, collecting data to enhance operational planning, infrastructure management, and long-term monitoring of its extensive facility network.
The project involves deploying advanced drone-based aerial survey techniques to collect high-resolution geospatial data across SAIL’s steel plants and sites.
The partnership aligns with SAIL’s ongoing digital transformation strategy to integrate smart technologies for improved efficiency, resource utilization, and safety compliance. The aerial surveys will enable SAIL to conduct detailed infrastructure audits, optimize asset management, and support evidence-based decision-making for future expansion and modernization projects.
“We are proud to support SAIL in their mission to modernize and optimize operations through drone technology. Drone-based mapping solutions bring unmatched accuracy and speed to large-scale industrial assessments, enabling enterprises to make more informed decisions. This partnership reinforces our commitment to advancing India’s industrial sector through innovative aerial intelligence solutions,” Agnishwar Jayaprakash, Founder and CEO of Garuda Aerospace said on 6 Mar.
