The Prime Minister Narendra Modi has projected the value of Indian electronics sector to reach US$500 billion by end of this decade, boosted by the development of semiconductor manufacturing in the country and the Tata Semiconductor Assembly & Test facility in progress at Jagiroad, Assam.

Pointing out that the growing gas infrastructure in the country has led to increased demand, and the entire gas-based economy sector is rapidly expanding, PM Modi remarked that Assam has a significant advantage in this journey.
Stressing that Assam has always had a share in India’s global trade, PM Modi remarked that today, over 50% of India’s on-shore natural gas production comes from state.
Highlighting that in the recent budget, the Central government has approved the Namrup-4 plant, the Prime Minister remarked that this urea production complex will meet the demand of the entire North East and the country in the future.
He said, “The day is not far when Assam will become a major manufacturing hub in Eastern India.”
He assured that the Central Government is fully supporting the state Government of Assam in achieving this goal.
