Indigenously-designed barges built by MSME yard
The indigenously-designed seventh Missile cut Ammunition (MCA) Barge, LSAM 14 (Yard 82), was launched on 12 Dec 24 at Mira Bhayandar, Maharashtra, west coast, was launched in a ceremony presided over by Cmde AKK Reddy, AGM (PR), ND (Mbi) https://www.bseindia.com/.
It is one of the eight MCA barges built by SECON Engineering Projects Pvt Ltd of Visakhapatnam.
The contract for construction of eight Missile Cum Ammunition Barges was concluded with SECON Engineering on 19 Feb 2021 http://mod.gov.in.
The MSME shipyard has indigenously designed these Barges in collaboration with an Indian Ship Design firm and subsequently successfully model tested at Naval Science and Technological Laboratory, Visakhapatnam, to ensure seaworthinesshttps://www.makeinindia.com/home/.
These barges have been built in accordance with relevant Naval Rules and Regulation of Indian Register of Shipping (IRS).
