Defence Ministry awards Rs.2,956.89 crore contract for 16 SRGM
Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL) BHEL has manufactured India’s first set of Selective Catalyst Reactors (SCR) for limiting NOx emissions for the 5×800 MW Yadadri Thermal Power Station in Telangana.
Notably, it is a significant milestone under the Government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative as these catalysts were hitherto being imported, said the Ministry of Heavy Industries.
Separately, BHEL has signed a Rs.2,956.89 crore contract with the Ministry of Defence (MoD) for the supply of 16 Upgraded Super Rapid Gun Mounts (SRGM). These will be installed on both in-service and newly built ships of the Indian Navy.
The guns will be manufactured at BHEL’s Haridwar unit, the Ministry said on 23 Dec in an update on the heavy industry sector.
BHEL has also initiated a Green Company campaign to attain Net Zero emission by 2047. Fiinews.com
