Kerala Govt has agreed to share 25% cost of land acquisition for 16 ongoing projects
Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has listed three greenfield national highways projects coming up in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha on 26 July 2023.
These are:
4 laning of Palakkad to Kozhikode section of NH-966;
4 lane Greenfield Road from Kochi to KL/TN Border section of NH-85;
4-Lane Thiruvananthpuram – Kottarkarra – Kottayam – Angamali (MC Road) from Km. 0/00 to km 226/27.
Further, the state Government has also agreed to share 25% cost of land acquisition, amounting to Rs.4,440 crore for upcoming three Greenfield NH projects.
The Minister has also updated the house on a proposal received from Kerala Government to waive off the proposed 25% of State’s share of land acquisition for two projects of NHAI i.e. (i) Ernakullam Bypass (ii) Kollam-Shenkottai.
He said the Kerala Government has agreed to share 25% cost of land acquisition amounting to Rs.5,748 crore for 16 ongoing projects on NH-66, out of which Rs.5,581 crore has been deposited.
The state Government has agreed for sharing of 50% cost of land acquisition, 100% cost of service road and exemption of State GST & royalty for Thiruvananthapuram Outer Ring Road section of NH-866. The agreement has not been signed.
During the last 5 years, around 160 km of NH has been constructed by NHAI in the State of Kerala, he said.
