Jaiswal Bridge over River Chenab completed
Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has announced a Rs.1,200 crore programme for the Malkapur-Buldhana-Chikhli road and Rs.350 crore 22-km Balapur-Shegaon road.
Besides, Rs.25 crore work has been approved for Chikhali to Thakarkhed and other roads, informed Gadkari at the inauguration of Rs.816 crore Shelad to Nandura project on Amravati-Chikhali National Highway 53 at Khamgaon, Buldhana, Maharashtra.
The National Highway 53 links Gujarat, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Odisha as well as other states, connecting Nandurbar, Dhule, Jalgaon, (Khamgaon) Bu ldhana, Akola, Amravati, Nagpur and Bhandara districts of Maharashtra.
“This highway also has good connectivity for Raipur-Nagpur-Surat or East-West corridor,” he said at the inauguration on 11 June 2023.
The total length of the quadrangle project of Sadar Shelad-Nandura division is 45 km and includes 14 km greenfield bypass, 4 major bridges, 16 minor bridges, 63 culverts, 1 ROB, 8 vehicle underpasses, 2 pedestrian underpasses, 12 bus shelters.
This project will be useful for the famous silver market of Silver City Khamgaon, which is a subdivision of Buldhana district, said the Minister.
On 8 June, the Minister announced the completion of a 2-lane Jaiswal Bridge over River Chenab on the Udhampur-Ramban section of NH-44 in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Minister said this meticulously designed Balanced Cantilever bridge spans 118 meters and has been built at a cost of Rs.20 crore.
