Rajnath Singh calls for increased Israeli investments in co-production of defence equipment in India
Visiting Foreign Minister Eli Cohen has affirmed Israel’s continued cooperation in India’s endeavour for indigenisation of defence sector products.
He has also conveyed the willingness to cooperate and partner in advanced technologies with the Indian defence industry during a meeting with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi on 9 Mar 2023.
Rajnath Singh has called for increased investments by Israeli companies in India for co-production of defence equipment.
He had underlined the Government’s priority towards indigenisation in accordance with the ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat Policy’ or being self-sufficient.
Rajnath Singh acknowledged the cooperation being extended by Israeli companies and encouraged them for more investments in India and for forging joint ventures with Indian partners to manufacture defence equipment in India.
The Ministers also acknowledged the completion of 30 years of diplomatic relationship between the two countries and looked forward to further strengthening the bilateral ties. fiinews.com
