Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) is developing 35 Multi-Modal Logistics Parks (MMLPs), out of which 15 MMLPs are prioritized in the next three years.
Pioneering the pace of building a countrywide state-of-the-art multi-modal infrastructure, MoRTH has made significant progress under the National Master Plan and has embarked on the Chennai MMLP at Mappedu, the Ministry said on 11 Nov 2022 in a project update.
Being developed in 184.27 acres, it is the 1st MMLP awarded to Reliance Industries Limited.

The SPV will provide to the MMLP site a 5.4-km of 4 lane National Highway connectivity and a 10.5-km new rail siding, costing about Rs.104 crore and about Rs.217 crore, respectively.
The MMLP will be developed in three phases. The Rs.783 crore Phase-1 development is targeted for completion by 2025.
The Chennai MMLP, strategically located at ~52-km from Chennai Port, 80-km from Ennore Port, 87-km from Katupalli Airport, will be a focal point of logistics in the southern region. fiinews.com
