Group operates logistics centre at airport and 80 locations in 32 cities
Japan’s Nippon Express has taken a big lead in the Indian logistics sector with a 200-m logistics centre at the Indira Gandhi International Airport and a network of 80 business locations across 32 cities in the country.
Going forward, Nippon Express (India) Private Limited (NX India) said it will continue utilizing its networks and functions to enhance services to meet the increasingly sophisticated and diversified logistics needs of its customers.
The NX Group, formerly the Nippon Express Group which renamed its corporate group name following transition to a holding company system in January, opened the logistics center in the cargo area from the adjacent airport cargo terminal on 20 Jan 2022, said the Japanese group in an update on its interests and assets in the Indian market on 3 Mar 2022.
“NX India is now better able to satisfy the needs of its customers, providing temporary storage coordinated with the flights to be used for shipments, timely delivery to airlines, smooth customs clearance, and sorting and repacking,” it said.
NX India had previously brought cargo collected from its customers directly to airlines or held it in temporary storage at an NX India warehouse in Delhi.
The group’s NX India is focused on import, export and other international transport, while sister company, NX Logistics (India) Private Limited, engaged in domestic transport, provides a full lineup of transport-related services, including air and ocean cargo import/export, customs clearance, domestic transport, warehousing, and domestic/international removal services, through a network spanning 80 business locations in 32 cities across India. fiinews.com
