New rail draws Rs.550 crore investment
Thirty-six rail projects, an investment of Rs.20,000 crore, are being executed in Jharkhand as part of the economic growth generating Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor which passes through the state, said the Railway Minister Piyush Goyal at the commissioning of the Hansidiha–Godda new line coal rail project in the state.
Indian Railways strives towards providing new infrastructure, enhancing capacity of its network and providing better facilities to the esteemed customers, he said at the flagging off Godda to New Delhi Humsafar special train through video conferencing on 8 April 2021.
The newly commissioned 32-km project cost Rs.663 crores and will accelerate infrastructure building and connectivity enhancement for this part of State. It runs through Godda and Dumka districts of Jharkhand, stopping at Hansdiha, Gangwara, Poreyahat, Kathwan and Godda stations.
The speed potential of this new stretch is 120-km per hour.
Two major bridges and thirty-three minor bridges have been constructed for the Coal Priority Project.
The Ministry of Railways has taken all possible steps for speedy completion of the project, keeping in view the movement of industrial inputs like coal and rapid development of business and industries as well as employment generation in Jharkhand.
