Indian consumers have shown more appetite to use mobile banking app compared to consumers globally in the longer term, according to a report ‘After The Covid-19 Vaccine What Will Define Success In The Financial Services New Normal’ by Capgemini which was released on 8 Mar 2021.
Bank Website/Internet Banking:
Global Consumer
49% were using Internet Banking before the pandemic
54% were using Internet banking during pandemic (April- May 2020)
55% use Internet Banking currently (November 2020)
58% will prefer internet banking in the longer-term.
Indian Consumer
56% were using Internet banking before Covid-19 pandemic
67% were using Internet banking during the pandemic (April- May 2020)
71% currently use Internet banking (November 2020)
73% will use Internet banking in the longer-term.
Frequency to use online channels in India is expected to surge even after the pandemic is over, said the report.
