ASEAN-India Hackathon offers economic opportunities
The Indian Government has launched 1,000 PhD Fellowships exclusively for ASEAN citizens while several Indian universities like IIT-Delhi and Tezpur University host students from the 10-member country grouping, Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ said on 1 Feb 2021.
He highlighted the strong academic and research ties at the launch of ASEAN India Hackathon which will provide a unique opportunity to India and ASEAN member countries to solve their common identified challenges under two broad themes of “Blue Economy” and “Education” and thereby provide an opportunity to forward their economic and cultural ties through collaboration in education, science and technology.
“The Hackathon will be enactment of six fundamental virtues of our civilisation – respect, dialogue, cooperation, peace, prosperity and innovation,” he said.
India, following its philosophy of Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam (the world is one family), is strongly committed to playing a positive role towards ASEAN region and the whole world, stressed the Minister.
The ASEAN-India Hackathon, an Education Ministry initiative, is being organized online from 1-3 February 2021.
The hackathon offers opportunities for all the 10 ASEAN countries and India to forward their economic and cultural ties through collaboration in education, science and technology, said the Indian Education Ministry. #technology #startup #innovations #hackathon /fiinews.com
