Order secured for Gwalior integrated infrastructure development works
L&T Construction’s Water & Effluent Treatment business is to design & construct intake structures, water treatment plants under the Jal Jeevan Mission and cover the districts of Guna, Ashoknagar, Shivpuri, Agar Malwa & Singrauli districts of Madhya Pradesh.
The multiple EPC contracts for the execution of rural piped water supply schemes also involves automation and measurement of water quantity & quality through the SCADA system, said L&T on 23 Dec 2020.
The work scope covers plants of aggregate capacity 377 MLD, transmission & distribution pipelines of length 17,513-km, 23 master balancing reservoirs of aggregate capacity 17.5 ML, 1,313 overhead service reservoirs of aggregate capacity 193 ML, 46 sump & pumphouse of aggregate capacity 46 ML, 6.5 lakh house service connections and associated electromechanical & instrumentation works. The contracts also include 10 years of Operation & Maintenance.
The schemes will cater to the drinking water requirement of 3,103 villages covering a population of 48 lakhs. The projects are part of the Government’s plan to provide a piped-water supply to every rural household by 2024.
The business has also secured an order to execute Integrated Infrastructure Development Works at Gwalior, said L&T.
The project envisages the development of 800 acres of Maharajbada region in Gwalior with 16-km of Smart Roads, 5 acres of Urban Parks, 31-km of Storm Water Drains, Multilevel Underground Car Parking & Underground Power Distribution System.
Separately, L&T inaugurated the corporate office tower ‘A.M. Naik Tower’ at Powai Mumbai.
A smart, digitally advanced, green corporate office tower is dedicated to L&T Group Chairman A.M. Naik for 55 years of service to the group, said L&T on 21 Dec 2020.
The 15-storey digitally smart and green building has a built-up area of 1.03 million sq ft for hosting 4,500 group employees, amenities such as a 300-seater hi-tech multipurpose hall, 800-seater food court, well-equipped gymnasium, digital library, immersive training rooms and a special lounge.
“The tower will pave the way to bring in further synergies across businesses, group companies and corporate functions by hosting multiple group offices at one location,” said S.N. Subrahmanyan, CEO & MD, Larsen & Toubro.
It is built with one of the unique and advanced construction technologies by using composite steel structure with concrete-filled tubes resulting in faster construction, larger carpet area and low manpower dependency during the construction process.
This new tower possesses several smart features including an integrated security management system with the command-and-control centre, an IOT-based building management system, a mobile app for employees and facility managers, smart workplaces, digital ceilings with occupancy-based heating, ventilation, air conditioning and lighting control, smart cafeteria management, smart vertical transportation and smart parking management. #construction #projects #tender #contract #technology /fiinews.com
