Tomar highlights Rs.10,000cr food processing fund
Twenty of the 37 sanctioned Mega Food Parks (MFPs) have already started functioning, Minister for Food Processing Industries, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Narendra Singh Tomar said on 24 Nov 2020 at the MFP inauguration in Punjab.
A fund of Rs.10,000 crore has been created for the development of the food processing sector which will benefit farmers and create employment opportunities, he said at the virtual inauguration of MFP at Phagwara in Kapurthala district of Punjab on 24 Nov 2020.
The Sukhjit Mega Food Park would prove to be a milestone in the progress of food processing sector.
Built at a project cost of Rs.107.83 crores and spread over 55 acres of land, the Park is equipped with Raw Material/Finished goods Warehouses (3944Sqm), Silos (20000 MT), Cold Storage (3000 MT), IQF & Deep Freezer (IQF: 2 MT/hr + Deep Freezer: 2000 MT) & other related food processing facilities. #investment #manufacturing #projects #food /fiinews.com
