Singh highlights Israeli and Japanese collaborations
The French Government has expressed a desire to collaborate with different sectors in the North Eastern States as well as tourism and other potentials in Jammu & Kashmir.
This was conveyed by French Ambassador Emmanuel Lenain who called on the Minister of State for the Development of North Eastern Region, Dr. Jitendra Singh on 20 Nov 2020.
Singh explained how different sectors were benefiting from international participation, giving examples of to the Centre of Excellence Citrus Fruit Park set up at Mizoram with Israeli collaboration and the Japanese collaboration in some of the infrastructural works.
There were vast areas of unexplored potential which were waiting to be explored such as tourism, handicraft, handloom as well as food and fruit sectors, Dr. Singh pointed out.
The Minister highlighted steps taken to increase engagement with the countries across the eastern borders by turning India’s “Look East Policy” into “Act-East” policy.
