Ordered: Rs.780cr of SIG SAUER Assault Rifles
The Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) meeting, chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, has approved Rs.2,290 crore worth of acquisition of equipment and systems from domestic industry and foreign vendors.
The DAC approved on 28 Sept 2020 procurement of Static HF Tans-receiver sets and Smart Anti Airfield Weapon (SAAW) under the Buy Indian category.
The HF radio sets, costing approximately Rs.540 crore, will enable seamless communication for the field units of Army and Air Force.
The Smart Anti Airfield Weapon, being procured at an approx. cost of Rs.970 crore, will add to the fire power of Navy and Airforce.
