Barauni plant to resume operation
The Paradip-Haldia gas pipeline will now be further extended to Patna, Muzaffarpur and connected to the pipeline coming from Kandla which, to date, has reached Gorakhpur, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on 13 Sept 2020.
Work to connect eastern India with Paradip on the eastern seaboard and Kandla on the western seaboard is under the Pradhan Mantri Urja Ganga Yojana which aims to link seven states through the 3,000-km pipeline, he said.
When the entire pipeline connection project is completed, it will become one of the longest pipelines in the world, added the Prime Minister, dedicating to the nation three key projects related to the Petroleum sector in Bihar via video conferencing.
The projects include the Durgapur-Banka section of the Paradip-Haldia-Durgapur Pipeline Augmentation Project and two LPG Bottling Plants commissioned by IndianOil and HPCL.
The fertilizer factory of Barauni, which was closed in the past, will also start working soon on getting gas-feed from the pipeline.
