GIIS students’ score averaged 36
GIIS IB cohort of 2020 has achieved excellent results with two World Toppers and three Near Perfect Scorers as the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP)
The school’s average of 36 is well above Singapore’s average IBDP score of 34.52, Singapore-headquartered Global Indian International School said on 7 July 2020.
IBDP is one of the most recognised high school Programme in international universities worldwide in which the students are assessed based on six subjects along with Theory of Knowledge, Creativity Activity and Service (CAS) and Extended Essay.
It is an immersive Programme that requires students and teachers to go the extra mile and adopt distinctive learning practices to achieve stupendous results.
In IBDP 2020 exams, GIIS Students Shivani Welling and Ananya Maheshwari emerged World Toppers with 45 points at GIIS, while Niharika Goyal, Tanishq Sharma and Shloka Srivastava were Near Perfect scorers with 44 points each.
Seven students in the cohort scored 43 points and four scored 42 out of 45 points. 31 students scored above 40 points.

The International Baccalaureate had cancelled the May examinations due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Students were assessed on their Internal Assessment scores and through rigorous statistical analysis of historical performance.
Within these circumstances, the school average stood at 36 which showed the depth of academic excellence consistently followed by the school which led to 62.2% students scoring 35 points and above.
Happy at the results, SMART Campus principal Melissa Maria said that the performances were outstanding considering the unprecedented circumstances under which the students were assessed.
“We are proud that our 2020 class has emerged with flying colours and overcome all the challenges that were thrown at them.”
Global Schools Foundation chairman Atul Temurnikar also heartily congratulated the students and wished them good luck in their future endeavours.
At a recently held graduation ceremony, Temurnikar had advised them on 10 tips that would hold them in good stead for the future.
Reacting to the results, he said: “GIIS has always been producing good results in decisive examinations. This year’s cohort proved once again that our students are well-rounded and have the capacity to be global citizens.”
