Sandhu leads selection committee
With an aim to facilitate investment in the highway sector, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) is in the process of setting up an Infrastructure Investment Trust (InvIT) to act as an investment manager.
It is important to have a professional management structure for the investment manager as the first InvIT to be sponsored by any government or semi-government entity.
A search-cum-selection committee is looking for the best talent from the market for the appointment of two Independent Directors and one Chairman for the Investment Manager Board.
NHAI Chairman Dr Sukhbir Singh Sandhu is the Convenor of the Committee with members Deepak Parekh, Chairman, Housing Development Finance Corporation; Girish Chandra Chaturvedi, Chairman, ICICI Bank; and Sanjay Mitra, Ex-Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways.
The idea is to have experts that can professionally run the Infrastructure Trust to mobilise resources from the market for monetizing NHAI’s completed highway projects, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways said on 2 July 2020. #highways #roads #banks #trusts #NHAI #projects #tenders /fiinews.com
