JBIC prepared perspective plan
Detailed master planning and preliminary engineering activities are in progress for Krishnapatnam (Andhra Pradesh) and Tumakuru (Karnataka), which are two nodes of the three identified in the Chennai-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor (CBIC).
Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) for the two nodes have been incorporated,
Commerce and Industry Minister, Piyush Goyal, said in a written reply in the Lok Sabha on 24 July 2019.
Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has prepared the overall perspective plan of CBIC and initial master plan for the identified nodes.
Ponneri (Tamil Nadu) is the third node in CBIC.
Land acquisition is responsibility of the respective State Government/s, he said.
Land acquisition process has been initiated by the concerned State Governments.
The following land parcels have been identified for development:
Krishnapatnam, Andhra Pradesh (14000 acres);
Ponneri, Tamil Nadu (21966 acres);
Tumakuru, Karnataka (9630 acres).
Total cost of the project at this stage cannot be ascertained as development activities are in progress.
The details of the amount spent so far year-wise on project development activities are:
2015-16: Rs.28,79,042.00
2016-17: Rs.26,22,839.00
2017-18: Rs.87,59,068.00
2018-19: Rs.8,42,59,157.00
Total: Rs.9,85,20,106.00
Since the project is presently under development stage, completion date of the project cannot be fixed. fiinew.com
