CM urged to lead delegation to China and Iran
Madhya Pradesh has potential to double its share in country’s exports in next five years, according to Ganesh Kumar Gupta, President of the Federation of Indian Export Organizations (FIEO).
FIEO has offered its assistance to help the State to increase its share from about 1.6% in India’s exports to over 3% in next 5 years, said Gupta after he and FIEO Regional Chairman (WR) Khalid M. Khan Madhya met Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath.
He urged Nath to lead a Madhya Pradesh business delegation to China and Iran as the two countries have huge demand for soyabean and soyameal, non-basmati rice, pharmaceuticals, technical textiles among others.
Gupta also emphasised the need for marketing of more products through exclusive shops in the departure area of international airports, starting with Mumbai and Delhi.
FIEO has also requested for inland freight subsidy for all products as cargo cost from the state to Jawaharlal Nehra Port (JNPT) was higher in many cases than overseas freight.
While asking FIEO to work more closely with the State and help to exponentially increase its exports, Nath assured that he will pro-actively look into the issue of freight subsidy and ex exclusive display products at international airports in India. fiinews.com
