PPP-mode for airports
Adani Group has snared a 50-year contract to run five government-owned airports, adding a civil aviation business to its portfolios of ports, shipping, power and infrastructure developments.
The five airports, as announced on 25 Feb 2019, were awarded out of the six airports put out for privatization under the public private partnership (PPP) mode through the Airport Authority of India (AAI).
The Group’s winning bid was based on per passenger fee of Rs.177, Rs.174, Rs.171, Rs.168 and Rs.115 for airports at Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Thiruvananthapuram and Mangaluru, respectively.
The fee would be paid to AAI.
The airports would be handed over to the Adani Group after completion of formalities, the AAI official said. fiinews.com
