Shipping Ministry seeks proposals
Under the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) UDAN version 3.0 of Ministry of Civil Aviation, the routes connecting the following six water aerodrome sites have been awarded to start seaplane and helicopter services.
The sites are:
Guwahati River Front
Nagarjuna Sagar
Sabarmati River Front
Shatrunjay Dam
Statue of Unity (Sardar Sarovar Dam)
Umrangso Reservoir.
But so far there is no proposal to start seaplane and helicopter operations on 1,680 km length of Ganga river for passenger transport, Minister of State for Shipping Pon Radhakrishnan has told Lok Sabha on 7 Feb 2019. fiinews.com
